The Pilfered Panhandle.
Betrayed by our colonial masters, this lovely chunk of B.C. coastline was handed away to the Yankee. After serving loyally and with distinction in the Boer War, in 1903 Britain sided with the Yanks on the Alaskan purchase bounday claims. "Oh here boys, have a goodly chunk of these colonial boys land. We shan't need them again except as cannon fodder at Vimy Ridge and Dieppe." No one even remembers what Britain got in future considerations, and the people of Vancouver knew of no worse deals until the Canucks nearly 70 years later! |

THE TRUE SHAME OF ALL CANADA It is time for us to endorse our own Monroe Doctrine and stand no more for foreign colonies and outposts in the Americas. Self rule for all and freedom for the downtrodden of St. Pierre and Miquelon. These simple fisher folk can't decide for themselves wtf they want and have existed forever as semi-citizens of colonialist expansionist France. Imagine that, a couple of small islands withing spitting distance of Newfoundland so obscure that after hundreds of years most Canadians don't even know about them. Existing solely so France of all nations may rape and pillage our fishing grounds. Tolerate this no longer my friends, no longer! Canada must assert itself and seize these islands to regain our full fishing rights! France might not even care. If they do, no problem, anyone can whup the French. Prussian, Germans, Italians. Even Quebecers don't like France. If the islanders want to keep speaking French, they can merge with Quebec. |
